Hello!

My name is Ilona Schong and I am a photographer based in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands. I specialize in landscape photography and work as a freelance project photographer. In this capacity, I can provide all the imagery required for a business. Additionally, I operate an online store at Werk aan de muur where I sell my photographs to clients in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. Originally trained and graduated as a lawyer from Leiden University, I spent a significant amount of time working as a lawyer in administrative, energy, and construction law—initially at the Ministry of Economic Affairs (Dutch Competition Authority, now Authority Consumer and Market), then as a lawyer at Houthoff Buruma, and finally as a senior legal advisor at the municipalities of Bergschenhoek (now Lansingerland) and Rotterdam. My husband and I have three wonderful sons, of whom we are extremely proud.

My fascination with visual design has always been strong, leading me to discover my true passion in photography. Through the use of digital photography and image editing, I've developed a style that is known for its vibrant, striking, and moody visuals. Being a perfectionist makes attention to detail crucial for me.

In my downtime from photography, I enjoy being with our children and planning international trips.
